Question by Christopher R: How do i properly care for a “Ponytail Palm” (Beaucarnea Recurvata) plant?
I recently bought a “Ponytail Palm” (Beaucarnea Recurvata) plant from my local HD. They came as 3 small bulbs in one pot. Im not sure if i’m suppose to separate them or leave them together. They came together but the picture in the plant care tab shows only one in a pot. Also any other suggestion or advise for proper care for this plant would be great.
-Thanks

Feel free to leave them together or separate them, as you desire. When they get big, though, you probably will want to separate them.

The best way to care for them is benign neglect! Keep them above freezing, water sparingly (especially in cold weather), and give them quite a bit of sun. They are tough plants, but overwatering is the best way to kill them. Cats do like to chew on the leaves!

I have a friend in Los Angeles that has one of these planted in her front yard. It is about 12 feet high, and its base looks like it’s about 15 feet around. It’s awesome to see!
